The scorching heat in West Texas is reaching daily triple-digit temperatures, exacerbating the dangers faced by migrants crossing the border. As the state's Operation Lone Star forces illegal immigrants into more remote areas, there has been a significant increase in near-death rescues and tragic fatalities.

Border Patrol Agent Refugio Coralles highlights the perilous situation, noting that smugglers show a blatant disregard for migrant safety.
