Supreme Court Sides with Fishermen Over Federal Regulations

The Supreme Court has ruled in favor of a group of fishermen from New Jersey and Rhode Island, challenging the authority of a federal agency. The case centered on a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) rule that required fishermen to pay $700 per day for a monitor to report scientific and compliance data, a cost the fishermen argued was threatening their livelihoods.
