The fate of TikTok in the United States takes a dramatic turn as a federal appeals court upholds a law mandating the sale or outright ban of the Chinese-owned social media giant. TikTok, owned by Beijing-based ByteDance, is pushing back, arguing that the forced sale violates its First Amendment rights and has announced its intention to appeal to the Supreme Court.
